Wasatch Glass
Raised in Connecticut, from a young age Kristian had a longing for the high places and wide open spaces of the west. Upon moving to Salt Lake City Utah to attend engineering school in 1990 he found his true home. His work is strongly influenced by the mountains and deserts that surround him. Kristians signature pieces combine organic shapes and colors in a way that suggests the tenacity and will to endure that life in the high desert (or perhaps outer space?) exhibits. My background in engineering and 8 years as a professional rock climber has given me a unique set of tools for solving spatial problems. I have the ability to visualize how energy flows and the skills to capture that flow in 3 dimensional functional art.
